Javelin Ultralight Aircraft.

Ultralight Aircraft Magazine - The Javelin ultralight was introduced to the ultralight market in the late 90s. It was manufactured by Capello aircraft, to meet the requirements Of the FAR part 103 ultralight regulations. It was supplied in kit form with kits taking between 150 and 200 hours to complete. 4130 steel tubing is used in the airframe, and tail section while the wing uses aluminum construction covered in standard aircraft covering materials.

Capella Aircraft's Javelin Ultralight

The javelin is a single seat ultralight, taildragger, in a tractor configuration. It uses standard three axis stick and rudder controls, with a center mounted stick and a left hand throttle. It uses spring steel landing gear and has a steerable tailwheel. The javelin is a true ultralight in that it meets the 254 pound limit for this class of aircraft in the United States. Power was originally supplied by the 28 hp Rotax single cylinder aircraft engine using a 2.58-1 gear drive. Having flown The Javelin I found that this engine was a little underpowered, for the craft.
Options for the Javelin include a windshield, brakes and larger horsepower engines.
